Rhumb Line Travel Game

Rhumb Line Travel Game

By definition, a rhumb line is the shortest distance between two points on a compass, appearing straight on a chart, but actually curved due to the shape of the Earth.

The best way to describe Rhumb Line is as a combination of Noughts and Crosses, Connect Four and Nine Men's Morris in their simplicity but with no similarity to any one game.

Played with 16 Officer yellow and 16 Sailor blue glass nuggets, players take turns placing their stones at coordinates on the board to create a radius, an arc, or a spiral and navigate their position to form point-scoring rhumb lines, block the opponent and achieve victory.

A row of 4 nuggets in a radius (a straight line from center to edge) = 10 points ~ 4 in an arc (a curved line around the center) = 20 points ~ 4 in a spiral (a winding line from center to edge) = 30 points... higher score at game's end wins.

Includes playing pieces for 2 players, flexible game board and velour pouch along with history facts from years of nautical tradition.
